macOS Installation
Glambot Studio Desktop installation guide for macOS.
Prerequisites
Operating System
- macOS 12 (Monterey) or later
- macOS 13 (Ventura) recommended
- macOS 14 (Sonoma) supported
Minimum Hardware Requirements
- Processor: Apple Silicon M1 or recent Intel
- RAM: 16 GB minimum (32 GB recommended for 4K+)
- Storage:
- 500 MB for the application
- 500 GB SSD recommended for working folders
- Connection: Broadband 10 Mbps+ upload
The application is optimized for Apple Silicon processors (M1/M2/M3) and offers significantly better performance on these machines.
Download
From the Cloud Platform
The Desktop application is downloaded exclusively from the Cloud platform:
- Log in to https://dashboard.glambot-studio.app
- Navigate to Resources > Download
- Download the latest version for macOS
- The
GlambotStudio.dmgfile will be downloaded
You must have an active account on the Cloud platform to download the Desktop application.
Installation
Step 1: Open the Disk Image
- Locate the
GlambotStudio.dmgfile in your downloads - Double-click to mount the disk image
- A window will open displaying the application icon
Step 2: Install the Application
- Drag the Glambot Studio icon to the Applications folder
- Wait for the copy to complete (a few seconds)
- Eject the disk image once the copy is complete
Step 3: First Launch
- Open the Applications folder (
Cmd + Shift + A) - Locate Glambot Studio
- Double-click to launch the application
macOS Security Management
Gatekeeper Warning
On first launch, macOS may display a warning:
"Glambot Studio" cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified.
Solution:
- Go to System Preferences (or System Settings on Ventura+)
- Click on Security & Privacy (or Privacy & Security)
- In the General tab, click Open Anyway
- Confirm by clicking Open again
You can also Ctrl + Click on the application and choose Open from the context menu.
System Permissions
The application will request the following permissions:
Full Disk Access
- Reason: To access videos on external drives and SD cards
- Action: Allow in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access
Network Access
- Reason: To synchronize with the Cloud platform
- Action: Automatically allow on first request
Notifications (Optional)
- Reason: To notify you when encoding and uploads are complete
- Action: Recommended to track your processing
Initial Configuration
On first launch, the application will guide you:
- Cloud Connection: Authenticate with your account
- Project Selection: Choose or create a project
- Cloud Project Linking: Associate with a platform project
- Working Folders: Define import/transcode locations

Updates
Checking for Updates
The application automatically checks for updates:
- Menu > Glambot Studio > Check for updates
- If an update is available, follow the instructions
- Updates are downloaded from the Cloud
Manual Installation
To manually install an update:
- Download the new version from Resources > Download
- Close the running application
- Follow the same installation procedure
- The new version will replace the old one
Uninstallation
To completely uninstall the application:
Remove the Application
- Open the Applications folder
- Drag Glambot Studio to the Trash
- Empty the Trash
Remove Data (Optional)
If you also want to remove configuration files:
# Open Terminal and run:
rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/GlambotStudio
rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/com.glambotstudio.desktop.plist
rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/GlambotStudio
This will delete all your local settings. Your Cloud projects and uploaded videos will remain intact.
Installation Troubleshooting
Application Won't Launch
- Check macOS version (12 minimum)
- Try launching from Terminal to see errors:
/Applications/Glambot\ Studio.app/Contents/MacOS/Glambot\ Studio - Reinstall the application
"Application is Damaged" Error
If macOS indicates the application is damaged:
# In Terminal, run:
xattr -cr /Applications/Glambot\ Studio.app
Then relaunch the application.
Download Issues
If downloading from Cloud fails:
- Check your internet connection
- Try with another browser
- Clear browser cache
- Contact support if the problem persists
