Manual Import

Import video files directly into Glambot Studio Desktop without using automated import services.

Overview

Manual import lets you selectively bring video files into your project when you need direct control over which files to process. This is ideal for one-off imports or when you don't want to set up automated workflows. You import straight from the project's video list — there's no separate import menu.

Supported formats: MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, MTS, M2TS, WebM

Method 1: The import tile

The video list ends with an import tile — a placeholder thumbnail you click to add files.

Steps:

  1. Open your project so the video list is showing.
  2. Click the import tile at the end of the list.
  3. In the file picker, select one or more video files.
  4. Click Open.
  5. The files are copied to the project's import folder, and each appears in the video list once copying finishes.

Method 2: Drag and drop

Drag files straight from Finder into the app.

Steps:

  1. Open your project so the video list is showing.
  2. Drag one or more video files from Finder.
  3. Drop them onto the application window.
  4. The files are copied to the project's import folder, and each appears in the video list once copying finishes.

Import Process

Once you initiate a manual import:

  1. Copying: File is copied to the project's import folder
  2. Ready: File appears in the file list once copying is complete
  3. Transcoding: Automatic transcoding begins (if configured)
  4. Upload: Automatic upload occurs after transcoding (if configured)
tip

Large files may take time to copy. The file will appear in your project list once copying is complete.

After Import

After files are imported, you can:

  • View the file: Click the thumbnail to play the original video
  • Create transcodes: Click the plus button to generate a new transcode with different settings
  • Configure settings: Adjust transcoding settings, or set up editing and color grading in the Video Editing tab, before processing

Next Steps

  1. Configure import services - Set up automated imports
  2. Transcode videos - Process your imported files
  3. Configure color correction - Apply color grading
