Project Settings
Configure your project-specific settings including transcoding, color grading, and automatic editing workflows.
Accessing Settings
Access project settings using either method:
Method 1: Project menu > Settings Method 2: Click the cogwheel icon next to the project name in the app window
Both methods open the project settings interface with multiple tabs for different configuration areas.
General
Active Project
- Active project: The currently open project
- Linked Cloud project: The associated Cloud project
- Change project: Open or create a new project
Cloud Connection
- Connected account: Glambot Studio Cloud account email
- Sync status: Connected / Disconnected / Syncing
- Log out: Disconnect from account (requires reconnection on next launch)
- Refresh connection: Revalidate application authorization
Work Folders
Import Folder
- Current path: Displays the configured import folder
- Modify: Change the import folder location
- Open in Finder: Quick access to the folder
If you change the import folder, already imported files will not be automatically moved. You must move them manually if necessary.
Transcoding Folder
- Current path: Displays the transcoding folder (encoded videos)
- Modify: Change the transcoding folder location
- Open in Finder: Quick access to the folder
Naming Pattern
Configure how imported files will be automatically renamed:
Pattern: Define a name template with tokens
- Example:
{date}_{name}_{original} - Example:
{project}_{counter:04d}
Available Tokens:
{date}: Import date (YYYYMMDD){time}: Import time (HHMMSS){datetime}: Date and time (YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS){name}: Original file name (without extension){original}: Full original file name{project}: Project name{counter}: Auto-incremented counter{counter:04d}: Counter with padding (e.g., 0001, 0002){ext}: File extension
Pattern Examples:
{date}_{counter:03d}→20240315_001.mp4{project}_{name}→Wedding_video-camera-01.mp4{datetime}_{original}→20240315_143022_DSC_0145.mp4
Storage Management
- Used space: Displays disk space used by imported and transcoded files
- Available space: Remaining disk space on the volume
- Clear cache: Delete temporary files and cache
Transcoding Settings
Video Codec
Codec:
- H.264: Maximum compatibility, good quality/size balance
- H.265/HEVC: Better compression, smaller files
Hardware encoding with VideoToolbox is automatically enabled on Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3), offering up to 5x better performance for H.264 and H.265.
Bitrate:
- Set the encoding bitrate in Mbps
- Example: 8 Mbps for Full HD, 20 Mbps for 4K
Audio Codec
Codec:
- AAC: Recommended for compatibility
- MP3: Widely compatible
- Opus: High quality, efficient compression
Audio Bitrate:
- Set the audio bitrate in kbps
- Example: 128 kbps (standard), 192 kbps (quality), 256 kbps (high quality)
Resolution and Dimensions
Width and Height:
- Set output dimensions in pixels
- Leave blank to keep original resolution
- Example: 1920×1080 (Full HD), 3840×2160 (4K)
Rotation:
- 0°: No rotation
- 90°: Clockwise rotation
- 180°: Reverse rotation
- 270°: Counter-clockwise rotation
Cropping:
- Set margins to crop (top, bottom, left, right) in pixels
- Useful for removing black bars or adjusting framing
Color Grading
Professional color correction tools to enhance the visual quality of your videos with precise control over tone, color, and creative effects.
For complete color grading documentation, see the dedicated Color Correction guide.
Quick Overview:
- Tone: Exposure, contrast, shadows, midtones, highlights
- Color: White balance (temperature/tint) and saturation
- RGB Balance: Precise color control by tonal range
- Effects: Film grain, vignette, rotation
Enabling color grading increases transcoding time by 20-40% depending on settings. Hardware encoding is strongly recommended for optimal performance.
Automatic Editing (Optional)
Streamline your video production with automated editing features including intro/outro insertion, scene-based cutting, transitions, and template-driven editing.
For complete automatic editing documentation, see the dedicated Automatic Editing guide.
Quick Overview:
- Templates: Simple, Event, Highlight, or Custom editing workflows
- Resource Files: Intro/outro videos, logo overlays, background music
- Scene Detection: Automatic scene analysis and cutting
- Transitions: Professional transitions between scenes
Import Services
Configure automated import workflows with watchfolders and disk detection services to streamline your video ingestion process.
For complete import services documentation, see the dedicated Import Services guide.
Quick Overview:
- Watchfolder Service: Monitor specific folders for new files
- Disk Detection Service: Automatically import from external drives/SD cards
- Service Management: Enable, disable, edit, or delete services
- Post-Import Actions: Copy, move, or delete source files after import
Next Steps
Now that your settings are configured:
- Create an import service - Automatic watchfolder
