The Public Gallery

This is what your guests see when they open a live gallery link (/live/{slug}) on their phone or a browser. As the organizer, you configure it from the Live Galleries settings.

Public gallery

  • If the gallery is active, the guest sees the video wall.
  • If it's inactive or doesn't exist, they see "This gallery is no longer active" / "Gallery not found."
  • If it's password-protected, a branded password gate appears first.

Password gate

The gate shows the project logo, the gallery name, a password field, and an Access button, all styled with your project branding. After a correct password, access is remembered for about a day. Repeated wrong attempts are rate-limited (a few tries per 15 minutes).

The video wall

Once in, guests see the videos in a responsive grid (one column on phones, more on larger screens), with a header (if enabled) showing your logo, project name, and gallery title in your accent color.

  • Scroll mode — an infinite live feed. When a new video finishes encoding, it appears at the top and a "New video available ↑" toast pops up.
  • Fixed mode — a static grid sized to the viewport; new videos replace the oldest.

Real-time updates

The gallery stays live without refreshing: new videos appear on their own, and any settings you change (or deactivating the gallery) update guests' screens immediately. A small connection indicator reflects the live status.

Watching a video

Each card shows the video with a duration badge and, if autoplay is on, plays muted automatically. Tapping a card opens it fullscreen in a dialog (up to 90% of the screen height) with its duration, upload date, and a download button if downloads are allowed. Close with the or the Esc key.

Each card can also display a QR code linking to that video's own public page — handy for guests to open it on their own device. See QR Codes.

Downloading videos

If you enabled Allow download, guests have two options:

  1. Single download — tap the download icon on a card or in the fullscreen view to save that video.
  2. Multi-select ZIP — tap the floating Select button, check the videos they want, then Download selection to get them as a single ZIP. Selection tools include Select all, Deselect all, and Exit selection. Up to 50 videos can be downloaded in one ZIP.

If downloads are disabled, the download icons don't appear.

Branding guests see

  • Header bordered with your accent color, showing logo, project name, and gallery title.
  • Background image (if set) behind the content, with a dark overlay for readability.
  • Colors applied to buttons, selection highlights, and the new-video toast.
  • The password gate is branded too.

You control all of this from your project's branding — see Customize a Project.
